JW PET COMPANY In 2003, Fresh out of the the Pratt Institute Industrial Design program Brutherford was recruited to join JW Pet Company where he started as the first staff designer. His first commercial design was "Cuz" a fun take on an old classic... the ball (still on shelves 20+ years later). Over the next 10 years Brutherford was able to build and manage a full service creative team and state of the art prototyping facility that gave the business a tremendous advantage that fueled growth. In 2013 Brutherford was V.P. of New Product Development when the business was sold to Petmate.
